Shortbus - finding the real ourselves

Several days ago, I mentioned Shortbus (性愛巴士) to my friends, one of them said that she wanna rent it for a long time but she felt soo shy to do ... Another said is it a porno ? :P
In the movie, people go to the sex club "Shortbus" for their " mental oasia ", steping out of closet, exploring the joy of sex, reaching to orgasm or trying 3some even orgy and etc. PITY THAT ALL THE CLOSEUP SCENES ARE CENSORED ~~~ FUCK ~~

Well the movie has a lot of sex scenes but I think it is the metaphor to shows that we should libertate ourselves from the universal values in order to know ourselves more.
In this society, we are in bondage to the social tradition, esp me, being a GAY. Because of that, we are forced to do something against our will. And SEX is sort of big taboo that we are taught not discussing or exploring. Also most of people would take the mainstream to ignore the non-mainstream even think the non-mainstream are the deviations.

After seen this movie, I feel that we should be more open minded to the different. !

Heveanly food Anchovy + Camembert cheese - Venezia

Anchovy and Camembert cheese are such big NO for asian people, even for some westerners.. Due to the strong smells, some people just can't have them. When I was in Venice in this august, I went to a " Enoteca " (Bar) which serves the afternoon appitizers. I had the Camembert cheese with Anchovy, it was soooooooooooo yummy, I felt i was in heaven ~~~ The combination was great, the taste was amazing, the cheese melt the salty taste and the smell of anchovy, on the contract, anchovy brought the taste of Camembert cheese. The texture was super also.
Besides Anchovy and Camembert cheese, there is a kind of sweet wine called Fragolino which is good for anchovy + camembert cheese. In this bar, you can find a lot of cheap wine, and you can find out it is a place for the locals, a lot of italian people go there for wine during afternoon which is good for 1 afternoon offbeaten for tourists too...

Try to speak some italian, cos the owner dont udnerstand english.

The buildings with culture and humanism

A month ago, I went Triennale in Milano, Italy. There was a special exhibition of a famous architect "Renzo Piano" ( He might be not famous in US or Asia ). The most famous of his works are Pompidou Museum and Osaka Kaisan Airport. He is one of best architects in my mind that his designs always mix with the local tradition, culture and humanism. For example the Jean-Marie Tjibaou Cultural Center (as photo in post) in French New Caledonia, he designed whole cultural center like traditional village that stand for a sign of local identity.

Nowadays most of architects tend to design with surreal ways or unfriendly for living, I think they might not realize the real life. People said Renzo's works are something without glitz, well I agree with it totally, but I also think his works are more accessible and more lively and we can feel that his works are part of our lives.

Are we the substitutes?

We are just the ice cream cone, the 5 minutes happiness !

Just saw this movie called "Elizabethtown" on HBO, I think it is a good movie ( I never like Holywood Movies, but this one is good ~~ )

Whole movie is about how to de-arm the persona to show the real private emotions. In the movie, Claire (Kristen Dunst) always told to Drew (Orlando Bloom, hmm hot guy) "we are the substitute" that she always comforts herself that way since she never get a true love .

Honestly I feel the same way sometimes. I think we always try to convince ourselves with some silly excuses and never want to face the truly ourselves, the truly emotions~ me too. I think it is hard to face because we are afraid to examine and discover ourselves.
